The Instructional Design and Academic Technology team would like to extend a warm welcome back to campus. We put together a workshop series for this upcoming Spring 2026 semester, both in-person and virtual.
Session Names and Descriptions
Turnitin and LockDown Browser Walk-In Session
If you have any questions regarding using TurnItIn or LockDown Browser, bring your Canvas questions; no appointment is necessary.
Checking for Accessibility in Microsoft Word & PowerPoint
In this session, you will learn about using the accessibility checker in the most commonly used Microsoft products, like Word and PowerPoint.
Digital Accessibility Remediation: Working with Panorama in Canvas
This session will focus on using Panorama to fix accessibility issues in your Canvas course.
Using Videos in Canvas
This 1-hour session will give you an introduction to using Kaltura in Canvas for integrating video in your instructions. No previous video creating or editing experience required.
Making Rubrics in Canvas
In this 60-minute session, you will learn how to create a rubric in Canvas and attach it to an assignment, as well as how to score student submissions using Speedgrader and how to get the results of assignments scored with rubrics.

necessary.
9 Events of Instruction and Learning
In this session, you will learn about 9 events of instructions when designing, developing, or rethinking your course. This model is known to help strategically make course design decisions.
Active Learning Strategies-Community of Learners (CoI)
In this session, you will learn about active learning strategies using a practice called community of learning.
Motivational Design ARCS Model
In this session, you will learn about various strategies to engage students in their learning using their motivation as the key to success in their learning.
Formative Assessment
In this session, you will learn about various strategies to develop assessments for your students based on your course goals and objectives.
