How can I import an exam in McGraw Hill Test Builder to Canvas (Classic Quizzes)?

After building your exam with the McGraw Hill Test Builder, import the exam into Canvas for your students' assessment.

Please note: Le Moyne currently uses Canvas Classic Quizzes.

Import Exam to Canvas

  1. If you are using the “Classic Quizzes” feature in Canvas, select the “D2L/Blackboard/Canvas/Moodle” QTI option in Test Builder:

 

2. After you have downloaded the QTI file, within your Canvas course, click on the “Settings” link from the left-hand menu, then on the “Import Course Content” link.

 

3. Once you are on the Import Content page, select “QTI zip file from the content type dropdown menu.

4. Click on the “Choose File” button to find the QTI tile that was exported from Test Builder. You should see it in your Downloads folder, unless you saved it in another location.

5. After you’ve chosen the QTI file, click the on the blue “Import” button at the bottom of the page.

6. After clicking the Import button, you should see your quiz appear under the Current Jobs section.

Edit Exam Settings in Canvas

  1. Click on the blue “Quizzes” button from the left-hand navigation list.

  2. Click the blue + Quiz button on the top right of the page.

  3. You will then be in the editing section for the quiz. Review the Canvas guide What options can I set in a quiz? for more information regarding the quiz options.
