How do I remove undated items at the bottom of my Syllabus course summary page?
When copying content from a pre-existing Canvas course, you may notice calendar events or assignments appearing at the bottom of the Syllabus page. These items are positioned at the bottom of the syllabus page because they are 'undated.'
The following instructions explain how to remove the undated items from the bottom of your course's Syllabus course summary page.
The Canvas Calendar page is not course-specific; it is account-specific. This means you may see other courses from the past or future, along with any active courses. To learn more about using the Calendar in Canvas, please refer to the guide 'How do I use the Calendar as an instructor?'
Finding and Adjusting Undated Events
To begin, please access one of your Canvas courses from which you would like to remove the dates. Navigate to the Syllabus page and scroll down to the bottom of the page (Figure 1).
Click on an 'undated' event, located at the bottom of the page.
After clicking the event, you should be redirected to a Canvas Calendar page.
On the top right-hand side of the page, you should see a smaller version of the current month's calendar. Below that calendar, you should find two dropdown menus: ‘CALENDARS' and 'UNDATED’ (Figure 1).
For these instructions, navigate to the 'UNDATED' section.
In the 'CALENDARS' section, we recommend checking the course you are currently working on to avoid any additional events on the calendar.
After clicking on 'UNDATED,' you should notice the menu expanding, revealing a drop-down selection of your undated course events and assignments (Figure 2).
By clicking on an event, you’ll see the option to delete or edit.
If you would like to remove an undated event, click the delete button.
If you would like to edit the event and give them dates, click the edit button.
