To turn on Google Assignments for your Canvas Course, you will need to create a new assignment as an external tool. The following information will show you how to enable the external tool in a new assignment.

  1. Log into your Canvas account

  2. Navigate to the course you would like to turn Google Assignments on with

  3. Once in the course, click the Assignments button on the left side of the page

  4. On the Assignments page, click the blue + Assignment button

5. You should now be on the editing page of your new assignment (below).

6. Scroll down the page until you see the Submission Type section for your assignment

7. In the Submission Type box, click the tabbed bar that says Online. When the dropdown menu appears, select External Tool.

8. The Submission Type box should now expand with new options. Click the Find button to proceed.

9. After clicking Find click the magnifying glass

10. make sure its lmc email, click link if it is click switch account if it is not and sign in

11. click link again
