  • Computer Specifications for Kaltura’s Efficient Functionality

    • Please note that the processor on your computer should be a minimum of Intel i5 or AMD A10 with 4 cores for Kaltura Capture (a software application that can be downloaded onto your computer which allows you to record lectures) to work. To self-check how many cores you have on your laptop’s processor:

Windows Users: search for “System Information” and you will be able to see the number of cores in the Processor information.

Mac Users: search for “About this Mac” and you will see Total number cores as one of the lines of information.

  • Enable Kaltura Tabs in Canvas

    • Open the Canvas course where you’d like Kaltura tabs available.

    • Open Settings from the Course Menu

    • Open the Navigation tab

    • Scroll down to the section Drag items here to hide them from students.

    • Locate Media Gallery and My Media, and drag them up into the upper section (or click on the three-dot icon and choose Enable)

    • Drag and drop items to reorder them in the course navigation.

    • Place the Media Gallery and My Media links where you’d like them to appear.

    • Scroll to the bottom of the page and Save.

    • Test the new Kaltura links in your course menu.

  • Kaltura Tabs on Course Navigation Menu

    • My Media is user specific. It is a collection of all the videos you’ve recorded or uploaded with the Kaltura tools. This is your complete library of videos. It’s associated with your Canvas account, but not with any particular course.  Your students in a given course cannot see what’s in your My Media collection.

    • Media gallery content is course specific. It is a place, within a course, where you can choose and post videos from your My Media collection for your students to view, in the context of the course. In other words, you can publish your videos and the published videos end up in the Media Gallery.

Please note that we have unlimited cloud storage with Kaltura.

Please note Video Quizzes have to be created as Assignments in Canvas for the grades to show up in Grades.

  • Zoom Meeting Recordings in Kaltura My Media in Canvas

    • With Zoom-Canvas-Kaltura integration, Zoom recordings now show up in Kaltura My Media in your Canvas course. (Step-by-Step Guide | Video)
